David Clites, CEO and Owner of Promise Home Care

CEO & Owner

David Clites, MS-HSA

David founded Promise Home Care with a clear vision: to create a home care experience built on trust, consistency, transparency, and genuine personal attention. With more than 15 years of experience in the home care industry, he brings a strong understanding of both the operational side of care and the responsibility that comes with supporting clients and their families.

David earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida, along with a minor in Business Management. Since beginning his career in home care in 2010, he has gained extensive experience in healthcare operations, leadership, caregiver management, and client services. That experience ultimately shaped his vision for Promise Home Care and the kind of agency he wanted to build.

For David, the details matter. From supporting caregivers and strengthening internal processes to helping ensure clients receive consistent, dependable care, he is committed to keeping Promise organized, responsive, and prepared as the needs of clients and families evolve. He remains actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the agency and believes strong communication and attention to detail are essential to providing an exceptional care experience.

Above all, David takes pride in the relationships Promise has built with its clients, families, caregivers, and community partners. For him, Promise Home Care is more than a business—it is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives during times when dependable support matters most. He believes that how people are treated, how challenges are handled, and how consistently a team follows through are what ultimately define an organization.

Outside of Promise, David enjoys staying active, spending time with his dogs, and making the most of life outside the office. He brings that same energy and sense of purpose to his work, helping ensure Promise remains a company families can trust and caregivers are proud to represent.

Chris Sugden, Director of Operations at Promise Home Care

Director of Operations

Chris Sugden

Chris Sugden joined Promise Home Care in 2019 and today serves as Director of Operations. His path into home care was shaped by personal experience, giving him an appreciation for what families are looking for when they invite someone into their home to care for a loved one. That perspective continues to influence how he approaches his role and the standards he sets for the Promise team.

Chris brings a unique professional background to Promise, with experience in training and development, continuing education, marketing strategy, and operations. He applies that experience across the organization, helping manage day-to-day operations while playing an important role in caregiver recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.

One of Chris's greatest priorities is building a team of caregivers who families can feel confident welcoming into their homes. He takes an active role in identifying people who not only have the right experience, but also demonstrate patience, dependability, professionalism, and a genuine desire to care for others.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and pursuing his passion for music. A musician at heart, he enjoys the creative process of curating and mixing music, giving him an outlet that combines creativity, energy, and sharing his love of music with others.

Our Team

Quality care starts with quality caregivers.

At Promise Home Care, the quality of our care starts with the quality of our caregivers. We exclusively employ Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) who have the training and experience needed to provide dependable, compassionate care in the home.

Every caregiver is a direct employee of Promise Home Care—we do not use independent contractors or subcontractors. This allows us to maintain greater oversight of training, performance, and the quality of care our clients receive.

Our caregivers undergo comprehensive background screening, reference and credential verification, and skills assessments. Their training includes personal care, safe mobility and transfers, infection control, dementia care, nutrition, hygiene, and other essential areas of non-medical home care.

Let’s talk about care for your family.
